Detail Description :
Post : Lower Division Clerk / Junior Secretariat Assistant / Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant.
Candidates, who have passed 12th standard examination from any recognised Board / Council are eligible for these posts. In addition to this qualification, candidates should have efficiency in typewriting with a minimum speed of 35 w.p.m. (10,500 key depressions per hour) in English or 30 w.p.m. (9,000 key depressions per hour) in Hindi language on computer.
Post : Data Entry Operator.
Candidates, who have passed 12th standard examination in Science discipline with Mathematics subject from any recognised Board / Council are eligible to apply. In addition to this qualification, candidates should have efficiency in data entry with minimum speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on computer.
For all posts : Age should be between 18 and 27 years as on 01.01.2020 that means candidates should be born between 02.01.1993 and 01.01.2002. Candidates belonging to OBC (Code No. 02), SC / ST (Code No. 01) category will get relaxation in age by 3 years & 5 years respectively. Physically challenged candidates (Code No. 03 for General, Code No. 04 for OBC & Code No. 05 for SC/ST) will get relaxation in age by 10 years, 13 years & 15 years respectively. Ex-Servicemen (Code No. 8 & 9 ) will get relaxation in age as per the Govt. rules. Widows / Divorced Women / Women judicially separated from their husband but not remarried will get relaxation in age up to 35 years, (40 years for SC / ST) as per Code No. 12 (UR) & 13 (SC / ST) respectively. For the post of ‘Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant / Data Entry Operator’, Scale of Pay is Rs.25,500/- – 81,100/-. For the post of ‘Lower Division Clerk / Junior Secretariat Assistant’, Scale of Pay is Rs.19,900/- – 63,200/-.
 Selection :
Selection will be made on the basis of ‘Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2019’ to be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. This examination will comprise Tier-I Test, Tier-II Test & Skill Test. Computer Based Examination (Tier-I) will be held on and from 16th to 27th March at the following centres in Eastern India (Centre Code is given within bracket) : Kolkata (Centre Code : 4410), Siliguri (4415), Hooghly (4418), Sambalpur (4609), Gangtok (4001), Rourkela (4610), Bhubaneshwar (4604), Cuttack (4605), Balasore (4601), Berhampur (4602), Ranchi (4205), Patna (3206), Bhagalpur (3201), Muzaffarpur (3205), Purnea (3209), Darbhanga (3102), Guwahati–Dispur (5105), Shillong (5401), Silchar (5111), Dibrugarh (5102), Jorhat (5107), Churachandrapur (5502)& Agartala (5601). Computer Based Examination (Tier-I) of 60 minutes duration will consist of multiple choice objective type questions based on these following 4 subjects : (i) General Intelligence, (ii) English Language (Basic Knowledge), (iii) Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) and (iv) General Awareness. There will be 25 questions on each subject & each question will carry 2 marks. There shall be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer. Qualified candidates in Tier-I exam, will have to appear for Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) Exam. Tier-II Examination of 1 hour duration will be held on 28th June, 2020 and it will consist of following sections : (i) Essay Writing (within 200-250 words), (ii) Letter / Application Writing (within 150-200 words). Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II Examination will be 33%. Paper will be set in Hindi / English language. Qualified candidates in Tier-II exam will be called for Typing / Skill Test. For the post of ‘Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant’ & ‘Lower Division Clerk / Junior Secretariat Assistant’, skill test will consist of typewriting test in English / Hindi on computer for 10 minutes. For the post of ‘Data Entry Operator’ skill test will comprise data entry test for 15 minutes on computer. Candidates will be given a printed passage in English containing about 2,000-2,200 strokes / key depressions & they will have to do the same on computer. The Skill Test will be qualifying in nature. At the time of appearing for the test, candidates will have to produce the following documents : (i) 2 copies of passport size recent photographs, (ii) Admit Card, (iii) Photo Identity proof viz. Voter ID Card / Driving License / Aadhar Card / PAN Card / Passport/ ID Card of College or University.
